The route

The longest day of the race, 171.9 km from Sisteron's citadel down to the Mediterranean. The Col de Toutes Aures is the only sustained climbing; from there the road trends seawards, with two late côtes above Nice to launch the brave before the Promenade des Anglais. One last chance for the fast women.
