The Worlds
For one week in September the rainbow jersey lives in Montréal. Thirteen world titles decided on one finish line — the false-flat drag up Avenue du Parc — with the road races funnelling everyone onto the Mont Royal circuit: the Voie Camillien-Houde, the 11% ramps of the Chemin de la Polytechnique, and nowhere to hide.

The elite road races roll out from Brossard, tour eight Montérégie towns, and cross the Samuel De Champlain Bridge into the city. The time trials run along the Saint Lawrence and through the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve — yes, the Formula 1 one.
The dress rehearsal
One week before the Worlds, the WorldTour’s only North American stop plays preview. The Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal — little brother to Friday’s GP de Québec — has redrawn its course for 2026 to mirror the championship circuit, so the peloton gets a full-gas reconnaissance of Mont Royal with WorldTour points on the line.
Same Camillien-Houde, same Polytechnique ramps, same Avenue du Parc finish. Whoever wins here becomes the bookmakers’ favourite for the rainbow jersey — and whoever’s dropped gets thirteen days to think about it.
